HP EDUCATIONAL SERVICES -- PART OF THE COMPLETE CUSTOMER SOLUTION * "Our organization began migration to a UNIX system platform approximately 4 years ago. As were were operating the UNIX system on a mainframe and a variety of vendor workstations, our training needs were unique. Motif knowledge was not readily available in-house to training personnel, and we turned to HP Educational Services for a solution. The location was convenient to our facilities and a Motif class was available. A group of six attended one of the first Motif classes offered by HP and successfully applied the training received at the HP Education center to their own applications. Our experience with the HP instructors and course content is extremely positive; we rely solely on HP Educational Services and instrctors for our UNIX system training." Kathy Samuelson Training Coordinator Information Technology Company Chevron * "During the past year our organization started up a new network running HP 9000 Series 800 systems. Our staff didn't have the time to develop technical expertise in house. We needed to quickly understand the latest networking technologies and how to use them effectively. HP Educational Serivces was chosen because of Hp's experience and the ability to deliver a hardware, software, and support solution. HP Educational Services came up with a comprehensive training solution that was customized for our network environment and staff skill levels. Training was conducted over several weeks on-site with customized courses targeted for three separate audiences: network administrators and managers, engineers, and end users. Courses ranged from a half-day to 2 weeks in length and voered basics as well as advanced topics. Within 2 months, 200 employees achieved the technical proficiency that has allowed them to make better networking decisions. I've seen an incrase in productivity and performance in departments with fewer people than when we started out a year ago. As our network becomes more complex and geographically dispersed, I'm confident our staff can meet future challenges due to the efficient training solution delivered by HP." Dave Fijardo Chief Business Computing U.S. Army Research Laboratory * Chrylser recently purchased HP OpenView Network Node Manager software to maintain its extensive network. The company wanted to smooth the implementation by increasing its understanding of the product's capabilities, so it turned to HP Educational Services. HP teamed up with networking experts at the company to develop and deliver a customized solution. Since the existing environment was a mainframe, Chrysler first wanted a quick, comprehensive overview of HP-UX networking. An HP instructor analyzed the company's needs and combined modules from the entire HP curriculum to create a special 3-day course cover HP-UX network administration, the OSI seven-layer model, and protocols and principles. This unique course was delivered to a group of networking strategists, administrators, and other experienced users responsible for the HP OpenView implementation. A customized version of the HP OpenView Network Node Fundamentals course followed. Since Chrysler had already identified its specific requirements such as being able to logically partition the network according to various business functions, class materials and labs were tailored to address these specific needs. The result: Chrysler has been able to focus its training in areas which are most relevant for its specific business needs. If you have any questions, please call me.
